iQOO 16T Leak Points to Dual Cooling and 200MP Camera

The iQOO 16T is at the centre of a fresh leak: an insider claims the phone is being tested with a combined cooling system that pairs a liquid loop with active airflow. The same report says the device will keep its 200MP main camera, yet will again go without a periscope telephoto lens.

Dual cooling instead of a single fan

Active cooling in the 16T was already mentioned in July, but at that point only a built-in fan was in the picture. The latest information expands on it: in test units, the fan reportedly works alongside a liquid cooling loop.

According to the insider, the iQOO 16T is being trialled with liquid and air cooling at the same time — a pairing meant to hold temperatures steady during extended workloads.

No claims about faster performance accompany the report: the leak concerns heat management alone.

Camera: 200MP without a periscope

The 200MP main module reportedly carries over to the 16T unchanged in format, while periscope zoom is once again absent from this generation.

Notably, the standard iQOO 16 is said to take a different route, with a 50MP main sensor. The company reportedly weighed both 200MP and 50MP options for that model before settling on the physically larger 50MP sensor. The highest resolution, then, stays with the T variant.

Display and platform

A July leak credited the model with a 2K Samsung display and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform.

Earlier still, in June, the 16T was reported to be in development and set to retain its predecessor's large-screen approach. The hardware picture remains unsettled, however: the latest report notes that official details on the chipset and battery capacity are still missing.

A reference point

The predecessor offers the clearest benchmark. The iQOO 15T arrived in May with a 200MP main camera featuring CIPA 4.5 stabilisation, 4x lossless zoom and portrait mode across all focal lengths, plus a 50MP ultra-wide lens with macro support. Inside were the Dimensity 9500 Monster Edition, the in-house Q3 gaming chip and an 8,000mAh battery with 100W charging.

No announcement date has been given for the iQOO 16T. The previous model only launched in May, so official details are unlikely to arrive right away.

What the leaks attribute to the iQOO 16T

  • Display: 2K, made by Samsung (per the leak)
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (unconfirmed)
  • Cooling: combined liquid loop and fan
  • Main camera: 200MP
