Acer Starts US Sales of Iconia Duo D12 With Keyboard and Stylus Included

Acer has started selling the Iconia Duo D12 in the United States. It is the entry model of the refreshed Iconia Duo line, built around a 12.2-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and shipped with a magnetic keyboard, an active stylus and a folio case that doubles as a kickstand. That bundle turns the tablet into a compact laptop substitute without buying the accessories that are normally sold separately.

The 3:2 screen is the main argument

The defining feature of the whole Iconia Duo line is the screen shape. A 3:2 ratio gives more vertical room than the 16:10 panels common on Android tablets, so documents, spreadsheets and web pages fit more text on screen and require less scrolling. The panel measures 12.2 inches, runs at 2400 x 1600 pixels and 90 Hz, and lands at roughly 236 ppi.

Unlike the higher-end Iconia Duo S12 and S14, this model uses an IPS panel instead of OLED. That is a clear concession to the lower price, but the display still supports an active stylus and multi-touch input, so note-taking and sketching remain on the table.

Hardware and storage

Performance comes from the MediaTek Helio G99, built on a 6 nm process with two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2 GHz, six efficiency Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz and Mali-G57 MC2 graphics. This is an entry-level platform aimed at browsing, video and office apps rather than demanding games: the higher models in the series use the noticeably faster Dimensity 8300 and Dimensity 7400. The tablet runs Android 16 out of the box.

The US configuration comes with 8 GB of LPDDR4 memory and 128 GB of UFS storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 1 TB.

Body, battery life and connectivity

The chassis is all-metal aluminium alloy, measures about 7.6 mm in thickness and weighs no more than 620 grams. Inside sits an 8000 mAh battery charged over USB-C using Power Delivery 2.0 and the bundled adapter rated at up to 20 W. Audio comes from stereo speakers, connectivity covers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and the single USB Type-C port runs at USB 2.0 speeds. There is no 3.5 mm audio jack and no fingerprint reader, while the cameras are basic: an 8 MP rear unit with an LED flash and a 5 MP front camera for video calls.

A keyboard, stylus and magnetic kickstand are part of the standard bundle, so the tablet can be used in laptop mode right away.

Support for microSD cards of up to 1 TB makes it possible to add storage without paying for a higher configuration.

According to Acer, the 8000 mAh battery lasts up to 10 hours in the company's own testing.

The Iconia Duo D12 was introduced in late May at Computex 2026 alongside the higher-end Iconia Duo S12 and S14. At the time of writing, the tablet's Amazon listing in the US is marked as temporarily unavailable, and the EMEA release is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
