vivo Takes X Fold6 Global with a 6,900mAh Battery
vivo has brought its vivo X Fold6 foldable to international markets after launching it exclusively in China. The global version is nearly identical to the Chinese model, but it uses a 6,900mAh battery instead of 7,000mAh and ships with Android 17 out of the box. The phone's main appeal is the combination of a large battery with a body that measures just 4.4mm thick when unfolded.
Slim Body and Two Bright Displays
The inner display measures 8.02 inches with a 2504 × 2312 resolution, while the cover screen is 6.51 inches at 2528 × 1120. Both are LTPO AMOLED panels with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Dolby Vision support, and vivo rates their peak brightness at 5,000 nits. For more comfortable viewing in the dark, the screens use high-frequency PWM dimming at 1920Hz on the inner panel and 2160Hz on the outer one.
Thickness and weight depend on the color. The Prism Black version is 4.4mm thick unfolded and weighs 228g, while Horizon Blue is 0.4mm thicker and 7g heavier. The phone carries IP58, IP59, IPX8 and IPX9 ratings, meaning it can handle both submersion and high-pressure water jets.
Platform and Software
The X Fold6 runs on the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chip, paired with 9600Mbps LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage. According to vivo, the NPU delivers 111% higher performance than the X Fold5's chip while consuming 56% less power.
The phone ships with OriginOS 7 Fold based on Android 17, whereas the Chinese version launched on Android 16. The interface is built around running several apps at once, with Multi-Task Workbench, multi-window split screen and AI Cross-App Drag for moving content between apps. AI tools include AI Meeting Assistant, AI File Manager, AI Reader Mode and the Jovi assistant.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 200MP 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPB sensor with optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto on a Sony LYT-602 sensor with 3x optical zoom and OIS, plus a 50MP ultrawide on a Samsung JN1 sensor. The optics are Zeiss-certified with T* coating, and image processing is handled by vivo's own V3+ chip.
The camera system records 4K 60fps video in Dolby Vision and supports up to 100x digital zoom. For long-distance shots, it works with the external Zeiss Teleconverter G2 lens with a 200mm focal length. Both displays have 20MP front cameras.
Battery and Connectivity
The 6,900mAh battery supports up to 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.
Bypass Charging 2.0 reduces heat during gaming while the phone is plugged in.
The vivo Z100 chip boosts cellular signal reception, while four additional chips improve Wi-Fi 7 performance.
vivo announced the global launch of the X Fold6 on October 1, 2026, following its June 26 debut in China. Pricing and sale dates will be announced separately for each market.
