Honor Unveils New Magic9 Color at Venice Film Festival
Honor has publicly shown the Magic9 smartphone for the first time at the Venice International Film Festival, unveiling a new color for the device. The event marked another showcase of the brand's mobile photography capabilities on a prestigious film industry stage.
New Color Debuts on the Red Carpet
The finish, called Moss Cyan, draws on natural motifs that Honor says echo Venice's classic atmosphere. Actor Wang Yantong, the lead in the film "Letter to Grandma," was the first to use the device in the new color, filming moments from the red carpet and the streets of Venice.
Dual 200MP ARRI Camera System on the Pro Max
According to Honor's official teaser, the series' flagship model, the Magic9 Pro Max, will feature a camera system co-developed with ARRI. The main sensor will offer 200MP resolution, an f/1.57 aperture, and a 1/1.28-inch sensor size for improved light capture. The telephoto camera will also carry a 200MP sensor, sized 1/1.4 inches with an f/2.6 aperture, geared toward low-light shooting.
A dedicated photography master kit will be offered for the Magic9 Pro Max, including a detachable 500mm telephoto lens that Honor refers to as the series' "cannon."
The kit will also include a compact 200mm lens measuring roughly 81mm in length and weighing about 88 grams, nicknamed the "thumb lens" for how easy it is to hold during shooting.
The Magic9 series will be unveiled at the Honor Magic Gala event, scheduled for September 28 in Beijing.
