Honor Officially Unveils Play11 With 8,300mAh Battery and IP69K Protection

Honor has officially unveiled the Play11, a budget smartphone that continues the Play lineup with an emphasis on an unusually large battery and reinforced durability. The device targets buyers who value long-lasting battery life and toughness over top-tier performance.

Display and Build

The Honor Play11 features a 6.872-inch TFT LCD display with a 1592×720 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 1,020 nits in HBM mode, and Honor has added DC dimming along with an eye-comfort mode to reduce strain during extended use. At 8.3mm thick, the phone weighs 216.5g and places its fingerprint scanner on the side frame.

Performance and Software

Processing is handled by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, available in configurations of up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone ships with Android 16 running Honor's MagicOS 10 interface.

Camera

The rear camera uses a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, while the front-facing camera offers 5 megapixels for selfies.

Battery Life

The Play11's defining feature is its 8,300mAh typical-capacity battery, rated at 7,900mAh. Honor says the cell is engineered to retain its health for up to six years of use. Wired charging tops out at 45W over a USB-C 2.0 port.

The phone also supports reverse wired charging at 7.5W, letting the Play11 power other devices like a portable battery pack.

A dedicated physical AI button on the side frame can instantly dismiss pop-up windows with a single press, and also triggers the Any Door feature, remote assistance tools, and an AI-based face-swap detection system.

The Play11's chassis carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K certification, and the device has passed SGS five-star drop tests from heights of up to 2.5 meters.

The Honor Play11 went on sale in China in September 2026 at a starting price of 1,399 yuan (~$195); Honor has not yet confirmed international availability.
