OnePlus Unveils Budget N6x With 7,000mAh Battery in India
OnePlus has launched the N6x, a new budget smartphone for the Indian market built around a 7,000mAh battery. The device targets buyers who prioritize battery life over raw performance and positions itself as a more affordable alternative to the recently released N6.
Battery life takes center stage
OnePlus claims the 7,000mAh cell can deliver up to 20.56 hours of continuous video playback, up to 133.56 hours of music playback, or up to 759 hours of standby time. Topping it back up, however, relies on 15W wired charging — a modest figure for a battery this size. The phone also offers 5W reverse wired charging and a night charging mode that adapts to the user's sleep schedule to prevent overcharging.
The N6x supports bypass charging, a mode that routes power directly to the phone's components while it's plugged in, bypassing the battery and helping reduce heat buildup during gaming or other demanding tasks while charging.
OnePlus rates the N6x's battery for 1,600 full charge cycles, retaining over 80% of its capacity even after six years of use, with more than 97% retention claimed after the first year.
Display and performance
The OnePlus N6x features a 6.8-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and 900 nits of peak brightness. Power comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex chipset paired with 4GB of RAM, which can be software-expanded up to 8GB using internal storage.
Storage comes in 64GB or 128GB variants, along with a microSD card slot for up to 2TB of expansion.
According to OnePlus, the chipset scores over 608,900 points in AnTuTu, delivering up to 50% higher graphics performance and up to 10% better gaming speed compared with rival chipsets in the same price category.
Heat dissipation is handled by a cooling system with a total surface area of 13,280mm², which includes a 5,300mm² vapor chamber designed to keep the smartphone's performance stable even under prolonged, intensive workloads. The stereo speaker supports an Ultra Volume mode that boosts loudness by up to 300%, while an Aqua Touch feature keeps the touchscreen responsive even when interacting with wet or oily fingers.
Camera
Photography duties fall to a 13MP main camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 10x digital zoom, alongside a 5MP front camera.
The camera gets a set of proprietary AI features: AI Eraser removes unwanted objects from a shot, AI Perfect Shot picks the best moment from a burst, and AI Portrait Glow improves skin tones in portraits under low light.
Build durability
Body protection comes from ArmorShell technology with four layers of drop protection: reinforced corners, airbag cushioning, hardened glass, and a reinforced aluminum frame. OnePlus says the N6x survives 25 consecutive drops onto marble surfaces and keeps working across a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
The device carries MIL-STD-810H certification and IP64 dust and water resistance.
The OnePlus N6x goes on open sale in India starting August 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST.
