TCL Unveils TAB A1 NXTPAPER Tablet With Paper-Like Display
TCL has unveiled the TCL TAB A1 NXTPAPER, an 11-inch tablet built around the company's NXTPAPER 3A Crystal technology, which gives the screen a paper-like look and feel. The new model rounds out the TAB A1 lineup, offering a more compact and lighter alternative to the larger TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER while keeping the core benefits of TCL's eye-comfort display technology.
NXTPAPER Display
The tablet features an 11-inch screen with a 2112 x 1320 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. The matte NXTPAPER 3A Crystal coating cuts down on glare and blue light without shifting color accuracy. Three VersaView viewing modes are available — Ink Paper and Color Paper for comfortable reading, plus a Standard mode for vivid video and photo playback.
Performance and AI Features
The TAB A1 NXTPAPER runs on an octa-core MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. Storage can be expanded via microSD up to 2TB, while RAM can be virtually extended up to 10GB.
The tablet ships with Google Gemini built in as a personal AI assistant, accessible inside any app without interrupting the current task.
Circle to Search lets users circle any object on screen with a finger to instantly pull up information via Google Search.
Smart Voice Memo provides real-time bilingual subtitles during meetings and automatically generates transcripts, summaries and mind maps once a session ends.
A T-Pen 2 stylus, with 4,096 pressure levels and two interchangeable tips, is included in the box at no extra cost.
Build, Cameras and Sound
The TAB A1 NXTPAPER comes in a 6.2mm-thick metal unibody weighing about 426g, making it comfortable to hold for extended periods. The tablet carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. A 5MP front camera handles video calls, while an 8MP rear camera with autofocus is suited for document scanning. Audio is handled by quad stereo speakers with a volume boost of up to 200%, along with dual microphones.
Battery and What's in the Box
The tablet packs an 8000mAh battery with 20W fast charging. Alongside the T-Pen 2 stylus, the box also includes a branded flip case with three stand positions — for video viewing, compact storage and writing.
The TCL TAB A1 NXTPAPER was announced on August 31, 2026. It is now available in the US on Amazon and TCL.com for $249.99.
