vivo Unveils X500 With Triple Zeiss Camera and Dimensity 9600M Chip
vivo has unveiled the vivo X500, the standard model in its refreshed X-series lineup built around a triple Zeiss camera system and a new MediaTek chipset. Unlike the higher-tier Pro and Pro Max variants, the base model targets a more accessible price point while keeping the series' signature traits: an advanced camera setup, a large battery, and an updated software layer.
High-Refresh-Rate Display
The vivo X500 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 2750 x 1260 resolution and a 19.64:9 aspect ratio. The panel supports an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 30Hz to 144Hz, aimed at keeping both games and everyday interface navigation smooth. vivo rates the contrast at 8,000,000:1, and the screen supports HDR along with over a billion colors.
Triple Zeiss Camera System
The camera setup is built around three Zeiss-branded lenses: a 50-megapixel main sensor tuned for high dynamic range, a 64-megapixel APO super-telephoto, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Their apertures come in at f/1.68, f/2.55, and f/2.0 respectively. Both the main and telephoto cameras get optical image stabilization, and both also support video stabilization.
The APO telephoto lens delivers 3.1x optical zoom, with digital zoom reaching up to 100x — a notable jump for a phone positioned below vivo's flagship Pro models.
Video capture tops out at 8K resolution, while slow-motion footage can be recorded in 4K. The front-facing camera carries a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
Chipset and Memory
Performance comes from the eight-core MediaTek Dimensity 9600M, built on a 3nm process with a peak core clock of 4.21GHz and an ARM G1-Ultra GPU. The phone pairs 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM with UFS 4.1 storage available in 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB configurations. Unlocking is handled through a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor or face recognition.
Battery and Charging
The vivo X500 packs a typical battery capacity of 7500mAh (rated at 7270mAh), charging via a 90W wired connection or 40W wireless charging. It also supports reverse OTG charging, letting the phone top up other devices.
Connectivity and Multimedia
The phone supports 5G and 4G networks with dual-SIM dual-standby, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD and LDAC codec support, and NFC for contactless payments. Its USB Type-C 3.2 port handles charging, data transfer, and wired headphones, as there's no separate 3.5mm jack. Audio comes from a dual-speaker setup with support for common audio formats. The vivo X500 runs vivo's OriginOS 7 software, based on Android 17.
Sales of the vivo X500 begin in September 2026. The suggested retail price in China is CNY 5,499 (~$821) for the 12GB+256GB version, CNY 5,999 (~$896) for 12GB+512GB, and CNY 6,999 (~$1045) for the 1TB storage option.
