vivo Unveils X500 Pro Max With 200MP Zeiss Telephoto Camera

vivo X500 Pro Max arrives with a triple Zeiss camera system built around a 200-megapixel telephoto lens, a 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, and a display capable of a 144Hz refresh rate. The company continues to push video capture as the defining feature of its X-series flagships, and the new Pro Max carries the most capable camera hardware the line has seen.

Display and Build

The phone features a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a 3168 × 1440 resolution, HDR support, and an 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The refresh rate is adaptive, ranging from 1Hz to 144Hz, aimed at keeping motion smooth in both everyday use and gaming. The screen-to-body ratio reaches 95.27%, with an aspect ratio of 19.8:9. Body thickness varies by color: the Night Capture variant measures 7.95mm and weighs 225g, while the other three colors measure 8.12mm and weigh 229g.

Chipset and Memory

At the core of the X500 Pro Max is the eight-core Dimensity 9600 Pro, built on a 2-nanometer process with clock speeds up to 4.55GHz. Graphics are handled by a Mali-G2-Ultra-NX GPU. The phone is offered with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra memory and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Triple Zeiss Camera System

The rear setup pairs a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 200-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, all fitted with Zeiss optics. Both the main and telephoto modules include optical image stabilization, while the 50-megapixel front camera, with an f/2.0 aperture, supports video stabilization of its own.

The main camera uses an f/1.57 aperture lens — one of the widest apertures found on a smartphone's primary sensor.

The 200-megapixel telephoto lens, with an f/2.67 aperture, delivers 3.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

The phone supports video recording at up to 8K resolution, with slow-motion capture available in 4K.

Battery and Connectivity

The 8,000mAh (typical) battery supports 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, along with OTG reverse charging. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD, LDAC, and LHDC 5.0 codec support, and NFC. The phone runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, with unlocking available via an in-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor or face recognition.

Sales of the vivo X500 Pro Max began in China on September 21, 2026: the base 12GB/256GB configuration is priced at 6,999 yuan (~$1,045), while the top-tier 16GB/1TB creator kit edition costs 12,999 yuan (~$1,941).
