Xiaomi Sets September 23 Launch Date for Xiaomi 18 Pro, Reveals Key Specs
Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch date for the Xiaomi 18 Pro — the company's new flagship will debut in China on September 23. Xiaomi has already revealed several key specifications for the phone, including a dual 200MP camera system, a new display generation and a record battery for its class. According to Xiaomi executive Lu Weibing, the new Digital Series generation will receive its biggest upgrade ever, with changes spanning performance, imaging, battery life and artificial intelligence.
Design and display
The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a flat unibody design with a micro-arc quad-curved frame intended to improve in-hand comfort. Xiaomi has reduced the bezels around the screen to just 0.99mm through a new display packaging process, giving the phone a near edge-to-edge look. The display itself uses a new-generation Super Pixel panel built on the M11 light-emitting system with a new green light-emitting material, which Xiaomi says increases brightness while lowering power consumption.
Leica cameras
The phone continues Xiaomi's partnership with Leica and introduces a dual 200MP camera system made up of a main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens. According to industry sources, the main camera uses a large sensor with LOFIC 3.0 support, which widens dynamic range and improves low-light detail, while the second 200MP module handles optical zoom and macro photography. Xiaomi has not yet disclosed the complete camera specification, so some details still need to be confirmed at launch.
The headline addition is a dual 200MP Leica camera system — the first time a Xiaomi flagship has paired two full-resolution 200MP modules, aimed at improving both standard shots and zoom photography.
Battery
The phone adopts a new generation of silicon-based battery built on Xiaomi's GSR VIII technology, which uses 32% silicon content to boost capacity without significantly increasing size. The Xiaomi 18 Pro will ship with a 7,000mAh battery — one of the largest capacities seen on a flagship of this form factor. Xiaomi has not disclosed charging speeds yet.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro's 7,000mAh battery is one of the largest among compact-style flagship smartphones released in 2026, made possible by the new silicon battery chemistry.
Performance
According to multiple reports, the Xiaomi 18 Pro will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, reportedly built on a 2nm process — a detail Xiaomi has officially confirmed without naming the exact processor. This should bring performance and efficiency gains over last year's Xiaomi 17 Pro series.
AI and rear display
One of the phone's biggest updates is an expanded rear display experience. The previous-generation MiShare screen reportedly logs more than 4 million daily app launches and 3.5 million wallpaper interactions, according to Xiaomi. The new rear screen adds support for apps generated with AI directly on the device — examples shown by the company include an egg-timer, a water-reminder tool and a Pomodoro timer.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro's rear screen can generate its own mini-apps using AI — from timers to reminders — without needing separate downloads.
Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will launch on September 23 at 7 PM local time in China; global availability and pricing have not yet been announced.
