OPPO Unveils A7 Pro Max With Record 10,000mAh Battery
OPPO has officially unveiled the A7 Pro Max, a new addition to its A-series built around a 10,000mAh battery — the largest ever fitted into an OPPO smartphone. The device also becomes the world's first phone to ship with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset.
Display and design
The OPPO A7 Pro Max features a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with a 2772×1272 (1.5K) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 1,800 nits, and the touch sampling rate can hit 330Hz during gaming. The phone comes in three colors: Black, Orange, and a "Riding the Waves" option with a 3D embossed rear texture inspired by the classic OPPO A103 "smiley face" phone. The rear panel also includes a multi-function ambient light that signals notifications, calls, and charging status.
First phone with Snapdragon 4 Gen 5
The A7 Pro Max is the world's first smartphone built on Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 platform, manufactured on TSMC's 4nm process. The chip pairs two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz with six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0GHz, handling graphics through an Adreno GPU. The phone comes with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, running Android 16 with ColorOS 16 on top.
The 10,000mAh battery is branded Glacier Battery and relies on a spherical silicon-carbon anode design. OPPO says it retains over 80% of its capacity after 1,500 charge cycles.
Charging is handled through OPPO's proprietary 80W SuperVOOC standard, alongside support for 55W PPS, 44W UFCS, and 13.5W PD protocols, allowing fast charging from third-party chargers as well. The phone also supports 27W wired reverse charging.
The A7 Pro Max carries four separate protection ratings — IP69K, IP69, IP68, and IP66 — and, according to OPPO, has passed seven military-grade tests for resistance to dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
Cameras
The main rear camera uses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization, paired with a 2MP monochrome module. The front camera also carries a 50MP sensor. Both cameras record video at up to 1080p.
The OPPO A7 Pro Max was unveiled on August 4, with sales in China starting August 7. Pricing is set at 2,199 yuan (~$325) for the 8GB+128GB model, 2,699 yuan (~$400) for 12GB+256GB, and 2,999 yuan (~$445) for the top 12GB+512GB configuration.
