CMF Unveils Clip Pro Open-Ear Earbuds With a Smart Dial Case

CMF by Nothing has unveiled the CMF Clip Pro, its first open-ear clip-style earbuds. The buds attach to the outside of the ear rather than sitting inside the canal, and the design leans on all-day comfort.

Design and fit

Each earbud weighs 5.92g and stays in place using a three-point support structure with a flexible titanium wire core that spreads pressure across multiple contact points instead of one. The C-shaped housing wraps around the outer ear, keeping the canal open so ambient sound remains audible. The case weighs 38.81g, the earbuds carry an IP54 rating, and the case is rated IPX2.

Sound and connectivity

Audio comes from a 10.8mm dual-magnet dynamic driver paired with Ultra Bass Technology, designed to offset the low-end loss typical of open-ear designs. The buds are Hi-Res Audio certified and support LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs, along with Bluetooth 5.4 and dual-device connectivity. There's no active noise cancellation for calls, but four microphones handle voice pickup.

The Smart Dial on the case lid is a rotating control familiar from earlier CMF products. It adjusts volume, controls playback, answers calls and triggers pairing mode without touching a phone.

Sound Seal reduces audio leakage to the outside; the Nothing X app lets users apply it to calls only or to all audio.

A low-latency mode is included for gaming, alongside Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for quick connections.

Battery life

Each earbud packs a 60mAh battery for up to 10 hours of playback, while the case's 475mAh cell extends total use to 32.5 hours, or up to 36 hours in Long Battery Mode. A 10-minute charge in the case adds roughly four hours of listening.

The CMF Clip Pro goes on sale on August 15 in the UK, US and Japan for $99, with Europe and other regions following on September 15.
