Motorola Launches the moto snap wireless charger with 25W Qi2.2 Charging

Motorola has used IFA 2026 to introduce the moto snap wireless charger, a magnetic pad built for Qi phones with magnets inside. The company is selling the accessory on speed above all: it claims up to 25W of wireless power for devices that support the newest version of the standard. The charger arrives alongside the motorola edge 70 plus and the moto watch ultra as part of the brand's autumn line-up.

Power and compatibility

On Qi2.2 devices the pad delivers up to 25W, which means it is not restricted to Motorola handsets. A braided 1.5 m USB Type-C cable comes in the box.

Supported Motorola phones get a separate mode built on the company's own charging protocol, where output rises to 30W. Motorola notes that peak figures are reached only when the battery is substantially depleted and that speeds fall as the charge level climbs, so real-world results depend on the phone and the state of its battery.

Magnetic alignment holds the phone directly over the coil, so there is no need to hunt for the right position. It requires a Qi handset with built-in magnets.

Magnetic case support lets users set the phone down without removing the case. The case is sold separately and may reduce charging speed.

Heat and standby power

Motorola says the charger has been optimised for cooler operation, while overheat and overcharge protection guards against faults. The company frames these measures as a response to everyday use, when a phone sits on the pad overnight.

Zero standby power consumption means the charger draws no electricity while it stays plugged in with no phone attached.

The accessory was announced on 3 September 2026 at IFA 2026. It starts at €39 (~$46), with sales opening over the coming weeks in selected countries across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
