Google Unveils Pixel 11 With Tensor G6 Chip and Slimmer Camera Bar

Google has unveiled the Pixel 11, the entry-level model of its new smartphone lineup, bringing an updated chip, a larger main camera sensor, and a noticeably slimmer camera bar compared to its predecessor. The design looks familiar at first glance, but most of the changes are under the hood.

Slimmer and tougher

The camera bar is 40% thinner than on earlier base Pixel models, making the phone sit flatter in a case and rest flush on a table without wobbling. The body combines a satin metal frame with a glass back, and the device is rated IP68 for resistance to splashes, scratches, and drops.

Pixel 11 features a 6.3-inch Actua display with a 1080×2424 resolution and an adaptive 60-120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 3,000 nits, and the panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Tensor G6 and a new camera

Pixel 11 is powered by the new Google Tensor G6 chip alongside the Titan M3 security coprocessor, which handles both overall performance and faster on-device AI processing.

The main camera gets a larger 48-megapixel sensor that captures 56% more light than the previous generation, noticeably improving shots taken in low-light conditions.

Alongside the main module, the triple camera system includes a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 10.8-megapixel 5x telephoto lens. Paired with Tensor G6, the telephoto camera now supports up to 30x Super Zoom. The front camera comes in at 10.5 megapixels.

Pixel 11 is available for pre-order today starting at $899 for the 256GB model, with availability at the Google Store and retail partners beginning August 20.

Battery life and charging

A 4,985mAh battery delivers more than 30 hours of battery life. The phone supports 30W wired charging, which can restore up to 55% of the battery in 30 minutes, along with Qi2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W.

Software support and security

Google is promising seven years of OS, feature, and security updates for Pixel 11. The phone ships with Android 17 out of the box, and the Tensor G6 and Titan M3 chip combination brings post-quantum cryptography to secure boot.
