Google Unveils Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Thinner and Three Times More Durable
Google has unveiled the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, an updated foldable smartphone that gets a thinner, lighter body, a new main camera, and stronger damage protection. The company calls it its most sophisticated foldable Pixel to date, focusing on build durability and expanded AI-powered capabilities.
A more compact body
Pixel 11 Pro Fold is about 10% lighter and nearly 1mm thinner than Pixel 10 Pro Fold, with even slimmer bezels around the display. Folded, the phone measures 10.1mm thick and weighs around 239g. It comes in two colors — a classic black and a new deep-green shade with a gold-toned frame.
Brighter displays
The outer Super Actua display measures 6.5 inches with a 1080x2342 resolution, while the inner Super Actua Flex display unfolds to 8 inches with a 2076x2152 resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Both screens are 20% brighter than the previous generation and can now reach a peak brightness of 3600 nits.
Three times more durable
The back panel is made from a new glass fiber composite that Google says is nearly impossible to crack. Paired with a new gearless hinge protecting the inner display and ultra-strong ceramic cover glass on the outer screen, the phone is three times more durable than Pixel 10 Pro Fold. A larger hinge bend radius and a thicker glass layer also make the inner display's crease less noticeable. The phone retains an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
A camera with HiLight notifications
The main camera gets a new 48-megapixel sensor measuring 1/1.56 inches that captures 56% more light than the previous model. It's joined by a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and up to 30x Super Zoom. The front and inner cameras both use 10-megapixel sensors with 4K video support.
A new LED light system called HiLight wraps around the camera bar, glowing in different colors to signal incoming calls from favorite contacts or hands-free interactions with Gemini, without requiring you to look at the screen.
AI features for everyday tasks
Developed with the Deaf community, the new sign-to-text feature translates American Sign Language into text within Live Transcribe and Gboard, using the front camera and outer display to show the translation.
Magic Capture automatically identifies and processes sharp still frames from motion during video recording, removing the need to shoot photos separately.
Bubbles have been optimized for multitasking on the foldable screen, and signature large-screen features like Drag and Drop, Split Screen, and Instant View remain. The phone also gets expanded Circle to Search integration with Pixel Camera and proactive Gemini assistance.
Performance and battery life
Pixel 11 Pro Fold runs on the new Tensor G6 chip paired with 16GB of RAM. According to Google, the new chip is 20% more power-efficient, speeds up browsing by 25%, and cuts app load times by 15% compared to Tensor G5. A typical 4,806mAh battery provides over 24 hours of battery life. 30W wired charging delivers a 50% charge in about 30 minutes, while wireless charging reaches up to 25W over Qi2.2 — 20% faster than the previous generation.
