HONOR Turbo Goes on Sale: 8,560 mAh Battery, IP69K Rating and 2.5 m Drop Protection

HONOR has brought the HONOR Turbo to market, a mid-range smartphone built around two things: a silicon-carbon battery rated at 8,560 mAh and a reinforced body with triple SGS certification. The company deliberately prioritised endurance over cameras or raw processing power, which makes the device a fit for buyers who need a phone that lasts several days away from an outlet and survives drops, moisture and dust.

A body rated for 2.5-metre drops

According to HONOR's own lab testing, the phone can survive falls from up to 2.5 m onto a smooth granite floor. That comes down to a multi-layer cushioning structure with six damping layers, including ballistic-grade material that absorbs impact energy. Liquid resistance is covered by several separate ratings: IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. The last of these is the strictest and accounts for high-pressure hot water jets and steam at temperatures up to 85 °C. HONOR notes separately that water resistance is not a permanent property and degrades over time.

The protection is backed by practical extras: the phone can eject water and dust from its speakers with a single tap, and the touch layer responds more reliably to wet fingers and gloves.

An 8,560 mAh battery with 80W charging

The battery is the second defining feature. The silicon-carbon cell has a typical capacity of 8,560 mAh and a rated capacity of 8,100 mAh, and HONOR estimates more than three days of use in a typical scenario. The company also promises the battery will retain its capacity for six years, based on roughly six hours of screen time per day. Wired charging goes up to 80W via HONOR SuperCharge.

The phone supports reverse charging, so the HONOR Turbo can act as a power bank for earbuds, a watch or other accessories.

Display

The device uses a 6.79-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2640x1200, a 120 Hz refresh rate and full DCI-P3 coverage. Typical brightness is 800 nits, rising to 1,800 nits in high-brightness mode, while the headline 6,000-nit figure is a peak value for limited areas of the image. The bezels have been narrowed to 1.3 mm, the panel is covered by aluminosilicate glass, and eye comfort is handled by 3,840 Hz PWM dimming, hardware-level blue light reduction and adaptive brightness.

Platform, cameras and AI features

Performance comes from the 4 nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 with Adreno A810 graphics. It is a mid-tier part, so the sensible expectation is smooth interface behaviour and undemanding gaming rather than benchmark records. The phone ships in a single configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.

The camera setup is built around a 50 MP main sensor paired with a 5 MP wide-angle module. Video tops out at 4K and stabilisation is electronic only, with no optical system on board. The front camera is a 16 MP unit, and audio is handled by stereo speakers tuned with HONOR Sound 7.3.

The AI image editor bundles a set of post-processing tools: removing unwanted objects and reflections, opening closed eyes in group shots, cutting subjects out from the background and upscaling older photos.

Magic Portal lets users select text or images directly on screen and push them straight into a search or another app.
