Redmi M100 Quietly Debuts With 7,900mAh Battery and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5
Redmi has released the Redmi M100, a smartphone that quietly appeared on Xiaomi's official website without any announcement or launch event. The device targets the budget segment and combines a high-capacity battery, an up-to-date chipset, and a high refresh-rate display.
A 120Hz display
The Redmi M100 comes with a 6.9-inch LCD screen featuring a 1600x720 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Peak brightness reaches 825 nits, while typical brightness sits at 675 nits, which should keep the screen readable outdoors.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 and up to 256GB of storage
Performance comes from the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 platform, built on a 4nm process with an octa-core Kryo CPU clocked at up to 2.4GHz and an Adreno GPU. The phone will be offered in three memory configurations: 8/128GB, 6/256GB, and 8/256GB, using LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
Cameras
The main camera on the Redmi M100 is a 13MP sensor, while a 5MP module handles selfies on the front.
A 7,900mAh battery
The headline feature is a 7,900mAh battery (typical rating, 7,750mAh minimum), one of the largest cells available in this price segment. The phone charges over a wire at up to 45W and also supports 22.5W reverse charging.
Connectivity and NFC
The Redmi M100 supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, and an NFC module that enables transit card use, Mi Pay transactions, and door and car key functions.
The Redmi M100 is already available in China starting at CNY 1,999 (~$296) across three memory configurations — 8/128GB, 6/256GB, and 8/256GB.
Could it launch outside China
It's unclear whether Redmi plans to bring the M100 to markets outside China. However, GSMArena notes that the upcoming Poco M8x looks very similar to the M100, and several of the Poco M8x's already-confirmed specs match those of the new Redmi phone, so the Poco M8x could turn out to be an international rebrand of the Redmi M100.
