Samsung Unveils New AI Tools for Interactive Displays in Classrooms

Samsung Electronics has introduced new software solutions for its Android-based Interactive Display lineup — Account Management Solution (AMS) and AI Assistant. The announcement was made at ISTELive 26, an education technology conference hosted by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) from June 28 to July 1 in Orlando, Florida. The new tools address one of the biggest daily challenges in classrooms: multiple teachers sharing a single display throughout the day.

Personal Sign-In Without Local Profiles

In schools where several teachers use the same classroom screen, access and privacy quickly become a daily concern. Samsung AMS comes pre-installed on compatible Interactive Display models and lets each teacher sign in to their own account with a QR code or an NFC-enabled card, without relying on local profiles tied to a single device.

Home Personalization syncs a teacher's profile through the cloud, so signing in on any compatible display brings back the same layout, wallpaper, bookmarks, app shortcuts, files and settings. This turns any shared screen into a personal teaching workspace with a consistent experience across rooms. For added security, teachers can instantly lock the screen when stepping away from class for a short time.

School-Wide Device Management

As schools add more connected displays, IT teams need a simpler way to manage users and permissions. Samsung Education Portal gives IT staff a central place to register teachers and enroll devices, with NFC cards linked directly to teacher accounts and remote control over which displays have AMS enabled.

The portal also includes Tags, a feature that groups displays by school, building or classroom. The same tags can trigger emergency alerts on selected displays through notification platforms such as InformaCast and Raptor.

AI Tools for the Lesson

Samsung AI Assistant brings a set of AI features for everyday teaching tasks directly to compatible displays, including content discovery, transcription, summaries and quizzes.

Circle to Search lets teachers circle text or images on screen to instantly find related information, visuals, videos and web links without leaving the lesson. Results can also be pulled into other classroom apps, such as Samsung Whiteboard.

Live Transcript converts spoken instruction into real-time on-screen text, making lessons easier to follow for students with hearing impairments and multilingual learners.

AI Quiz generates questions from recorded lesson content so teachers can check comprehension in real time, seeing the class's overall correct-answer rate as the lesson unfolds. AI Summary produces lesson recaps, and Single Sign-On through Samsung AMS lets teachers return to past materials without logging in again.

"By bringing together AI and seamless connectivity, Samsung's interactive display solutions are designed to support a more flexible, connected learning environment in which teachers and students can thrive."

Samsung AI Assistant has been available since its April release, while Samsung AMS and related Samsung Education Portal updates will roll out starting in July.

New Display Models

The lineup grows with three new models — WAF-S, WAFX-PS and WAHX-M — which, alongside the existing WAF and WAFX-P series, support both AMS and AI Assistant. WAF-S and WAFX-PS gain an upgrade to Android 16, bringing improvements to usability, accessibility, security and privacy. WAHX-M introduces a 98-inch option to the portfolio for the first time, aimed at lecture halls and conference rooms.
