Samsung Unveils Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer Lineup With Upgraded Fabric Care
Samsung has announced a new generation of its Bespoke AI washers and dryers, expanding artificial intelligence deeper into home laundry care. The new lineup adds enhanced fabric-recognition algorithms, a touchscreen control center and closer integration with the SmartThings app. Samsung says the update reflects growing demand for appliances that reduce everyday effort and help households keep energy costs in check.
More Precise Fabric Recognition
The washers use AI Wash+, which now recognizes five fabric types after adding denim and outdoor clothing to the previously supported categories. Sensors detect load weight and material type, then the system automatically dispenses water and detergent while monitoring soil levels throughout the cycle, adjusting wash time when needed.
The dryers feature AI Dry+, which detects four fabric types and analyzes the moisture and temperature of each load. Based on this data, the system adjusts the inverter compressor and heat exchanger, helping cut energy use and drying time by up to 20%.
Smart Screen and Bixby Voice Control
Everyday operation is handled through the Smart Screen, a 7-inch LCD display that remembers usage habits, suggests suitable cycles and shows real-time laundry information. After each cycle, the SmartThings app generates a report covering energy and water consumption.
Samsung's upgraded Bixby assistant lets users start a preferred cycle, add extra rinsing or check remaining time using voice commands instead of the touch controls.
Smarter Energy Management via SmartThings
AI Energy Mode in SmartThings Energy tracks daily, weekly and monthly consumption and estimates electricity costs. On compatible wash cycles, it can cut energy use by up to 70% using AI Ecobubble technology to wash effectively at lower temperatures. For dryers, the same mode can reduce energy use by up to 20%.
The new Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer lineup will begin rolling out in select markets starting July 2026, with timing and available models varying by region.
