Samsung Galaxy A27 5G Debuts With Upgraded Infinity-O Display and New AI

Samsung has announced the Galaxy A27 5G, a Galaxy A series smartphone that succeeds last year's Galaxy A26 5G. The device brings a refreshed Infinity-O display, a more capable chipset and an expanded set of Awesome Intelligence features, including a choice of AI assistant and on-device translation in the Voice Recorder app. Samsung also confirmed long-term software support for the model.

Display and Build

Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with up to a 120 Hz refresh rate. The camera cutout uses an upgraded Infinity-O design with a smaller punch-hole, while narrower, more even bezels free up additional screen space. Despite the larger display, the phone keeps a slim 7.8 mm profile.

Performance and Camera

Galaxy A27 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, built on a 4nm process. Samsung points to improved GPU performance for smoother gaming and streaming, along with faster memory that boosts data transfer speeds and power efficiency. The 12MP front camera has also been upgraded to capture a wider brightness range and more accurate colors across different lighting conditions.

Awesome Intelligence: What's New

Circle to Search now recognizes multiple objects within a single image — such as individual clothing items and accessories — and lets users virtually try on outfits directly from the search results.

Object Eraser delivers more precise results, making it easier to remove unwanted elements from photos with a more natural-looking edit.

The Voice Recorder app can now translate audio as it transcribes it, simplifying note-taking for meetings conducted in any of 22 supported languages.

Bixby now works as a conversational device agent, letting users control settings and features using natural language.

Users can also choose between Google Gemini and Perplexity as their AI assistant, while deeper integration with native Galaxy apps, including Gallery, is meant to make everyday interactions faster.

Security and Software Support

Galaxy A27 5G is built on the Samsung Knox platform with hardware-backed Knox Vault protection. Samsung is promising up to six generations of Android OS and One UI updates, along with six years of security updates from the device's global launch date.

Galaxy A27 5G goes on sale starting July 3 in select markets in Black, Blue, Light Green and Light Pink; Samsung Care+ extended coverage will also be available for the device.
