Samsung Launches Galaxy Smart Glasses Powered by Google Gemini
At Galaxy Unpacked in London, Samsung Electronics introduced its first Galaxy smart glasses, extending the Galaxy ecosystem beyond the smartphone. The eyewear was developed together with brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, building on concepts first shown at Google I/O.

"As agentic AI reshapes mobile experiences, the next step is to make those experiences more intuitive and responsive to each user's context. Intelligent eyewear creates a new point of interaction, bringing more personalized AI assistance naturally into the moments that make up everyday life," said Won-Joon Choi, Chief Operating Officer of the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
What's Inside
The glasses run on the Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 platform, which handles AI performance, touch controls, connectivity and power efficiency within the compact frame. A built-in camera adds visual context to the assistant's responses, and battery life is rated at up to nine hours per charge, with up to seven additional full charges available from the charging case. The assistant itself is Google Gemini, integrated through a partnership with Google.
Key Use Cases
Staying informed. The glasses can read messages aloud, summarize long texts and translate speech in real time, with controls available through voice or gestures via connected devices.
Capturing context. On command, the device can capture what the user sees — such as a whiteboard during a meeting — and organize it into notes for later review.
On-the-spot navigation and translation. Users can ask for directions or an explanation of their surroundings, while live translation supports conversations in another language.
Sharing a live view. During a call, users can share a first-person view or record it themselves, keeping their hands free.
The partnership with Google shaped the software side of the device and its integration with the Android ecosystem.

Two Designs, Two Styles
The glasses launch in two versions. The Gentle Monster edition features a slim black frame with a straight upper rim and softly rounded lower edges. The Warby Parker model comes in a rich brown hue with a subtly upswept brow line, offering a more versatile everyday shape. Throughout development, Samsung worked with both partners to refine the fit around the forehead and ears for comfort during extended wear.
