Samsung Odyssey G8 (G80HS): The World's First 6K Gaming Monitor
Samsung has announced the global launch of its new Odyssey gaming monitors and professional ViewFinity S8 monitors. The headline model is the 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS), which becomes the industry's first gaming monitor with 6K resolution. The launch also includes two more Odyssey G8 models, an OLED Odyssey G7, and two ViewFinity S8 monitors built for professional use.

Odyssey G8: A New Standard for Gaming Displays
The Odyssey G8 series supports DisplayPort 2.1, providing the bandwidth needed to carry next-generation visuals. Compatibility with AMD FreeSync Premium, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and HDR10+ GAMING keeps gameplay smooth, minimizes screen tearing and preserves picture quality.
The flagship Odyssey G8 (G80HS) is Samsung's first gaming monitor with 6K resolution. It delivers detailed visuals at a 165Hz refresh rate, and its Dual Mode lets users switch to 3K resolution at up to 330Hz. This gives players the choice between maximum picture quality and faster response, depending on the game genre.
The OLED version of the Odyssey G8 (G80SH) is available in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes and combines 4K resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate. The monitor features Glare Free technology, which reduces reflections without compromising picture quality, and a USB-C port that supports charging devices at up to 98W. The model is built on QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology, which improves energy efficiency, extends panel lifespan and boosts brightness. It has also received VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.
The Odyssey G8 (G80HF), with a 27-inch screen, is aimed at users who need flexibility. It supports 5K at 180Hz, or up to 360Hz in QHD through Dual Mode, making it equally suited to immersive story-driven games and fast-paced titles.
Odyssey G7: OLED Gaming Becomes More Accessible
The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH) extends Samsung's OLED lineup, bringing advanced display technology to a more accessible format. The monitor supports 4K at a 165Hz refresh rate, and its Dual Mode can run Full HD at up to 330Hz. The panel's response time is just 0.03ms, ensuring a fast reaction during fast-paced gameplay and making it especially valuable for competitive esports.
ViewFinity S8: Monitors Built for Professional Work
The 40-inch ViewFinity S8 (S85TH) features a curved display with WUHD resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It's built for demanding workflows and multitasking. Its Thunderbolt 5 port delivers data transfer speeds of up to 80Gbps and supports charging connected devices at up to 140W, while the Easy Connection feature simplifies switching between devices.
The 27-inch ViewFinity S8 (S80HF) offers 5K resolution with USB-C connectivity that supports both data transfer and device charging. Its ergonomic design keeps long work sessions comfortable, and its more compact footprint makes 5K monitors more accessible to professional users.
According to market research firm IDC, Samsung holds an 18.9 percent share of the global gaming monitor market by revenue and has held the top position in the category for seven consecutive years. The company has also led the OLED gaming monitor market for three straight years, with a 26 percent share.
The new Odyssey G8, Odyssey G7 and ViewFinity S8 monitors are available for order now.
