Xiaomi Unveils Mijia Vertical Study Lamp 2C With Dual Light Sources and 11,000 Lumens
Xiaomi has expanded its smart lighting range in China with the Mijia Vertical Study Lamp 2C, a floor-standing lamp built for desks and study areas. The company focused on a dual-light-source layout and an elongated light panel in order to reduce hand shadows and spread illumination across the whole tabletop instead of a single bright spot in the middle.
Dual-Light-Source Optics
The lamp reaches a maximum luminous flux of 11,000 lumens and is rated for rooms of up to roughly 14 square meters. That headroom is not meant to blast the desk with light, but to keep illumination levels comfortable across the entire area around the workspace.
The model relies on two separate light sources: the upper one produces 8,000 lumens and the lower one 3,000 lumens, giving an 8:3 brightness ratio between them.
The upper module works through diffuse reflection and lights up the surrounding space, while the lower one is aimed directly at the working surface. Inside the panel, light passes through lenses, a diffuser layer and an anti-glare coating, which softens shadows and narrows the brightness gap between the center of the desk and its edges.
Light Quality and Eye Comfort
Color rendering is rated at Ra98 and Rf98, with a color temperature of 4000K. Those figures mean that colors on paper or on a screen look closer to their natural tones than under ordinary household lighting.
The full-spectrum GFC value exceeds 0.985, which according to Xiaomi brings the lamp's spectrum close to sunlight.
The lamp meets the RG0 exemption group for blue-light hazards and has no visible flicker, while its unified glare rating is claimed to stay below 13. Xiaomi estimates the LED lifespan at around 17 years.
Build and Controls
The roughly 80cm light panel sits about 1.3 meters above the tabletop, and its frame is only 28mm thick. Lighting uniformity across a 1.2 × 0.6 meter area is rated at 1.4. The stand uses an anti-tipping structure with an 11-degree tilt allowance at the front and rear, and the whole unit weighs about 8.5kg.
Alongside the touch panel on the pole, the lamp supports a radar presence sensor with a 120-degree field of view, a default trigger distance of 0.8 meters and a maximum range of 2.4 meters.
Control is also available through the Mijia app and the Super XiaoAI voice assistant. Xiaomi states that the lamp's lighting characteristics comply with both Chinese and European standards.
The lamp is already on sale in China through JD.com at 1,199 yuan (~$167), and in some regions national subsidies bring the price down to around 999.6 yuan (~$139). Xiaomi has not yet commented on availability outside China.
