ASUS Unveils ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace With 720Hz Refresh Rate

At Gamescom 2026 ASUS unveiled the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, a 24.5-inch esports monitor running at 720Hz. The company describes it as the fastest OLED display ever built, and the model now sits at the top of the Ace series that ASUS develops with input from professional players.

Tandem WOLED panel and 720Hz speed

The monitor uses a TrueBlack Glossy Tandem WOLED panel with a 0.02ms response time. That combination keeps moving objects sharp during fast action, while deep blacks survive the harsh stage lighting of a live arena, where many panels visibly lose contrast.

Built around the player's own setup

A distinct part of the Ace series is the set of tools that let esports players rebuild their familiar seating and screen position on unfamiliar hardware.

The Position Sensor measures tilt, swivel and height and shows the readings on screen, so a player can reproduce an exact setup even in the middle of a competition.

Printed scales on the tilt (−5° to +33°), swivel (±45°) and height (0–155mm) adjustments repeat the same measurements without any electronics involved.

The Quick OSD menu puts core image settings one step away right before a match, while three Esports Color presets are tuned for different FPS scenarios.

The power supply relies on GaNFET transistors, which improve heat dissipation and, according to ASUS, help extend the lifespan of the OLED panel.

The model has been selected as the official monitor of the 2026 PGL CS2 Major. PGL CEO Silviu Stroie called it "the first OLED Major on the fastest OLED ever made" and said it marks a new generation of competitive Counter-Strike.

The PG259QWS Ace joins the ROG esports OLED lineup alongside the Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace, which debuted at Computex 2026.

The monitor was announced on August 25, 2026, and goes on sale in early Q4 at an MSRP of US$1,099.
