ASUS Unveils ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 With Curved AMOLED Display
ASUS has given its top-end Astral card an anniversary treatment with the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20. Compared with the standard Astral RTX 5090, this version adds a curved AMOLED display along one edge, a transparent glass backplate and a dual power input capable of drawing up to 800 watts. The underlying hardware is unchanged: NVIDIA's flagship Blackwell GPU with 32 GB of GDDR7 memory.
Up to 800 watts of power input
The card's main engineering difference lies in how it takes power. It can draw from two sources at once: a detachable GC-HPWR adapter that relies on ASUS BTF motherboards, and a conventional 12V-2x6 cable running from the power supply. ASUS estimates that splitting the load this way provides roughly 10 percent more overclocking headroom.
That raises the bar for the rest of the system. ASUS recommends a 1000-watt power supply for stock operation and up to 1200 watts for heavily overclocked builds.
Cooling
Heat management falls to a combination of four fans, a vapor chamber with heatpipes, and liquid metal on the GPU die. The quad-fan layout creates a vertical airflow channel that ASUS says raises air pressure by around 20 percent. A dedicated production method keeps the liquid metal contained within the die area.
A transparent glass backplate exposes the PCB and its components instead of the usual solid metal cover.
Display and synchronisation
The shroud carries a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED display at 2K resolution. It shows real-time system metrics, custom images and animations with a naked-eye 3D effect. Power and data reach the panel through a USB cable linking the card's Type-C port to a Type-A port on the motherboard.
Display Sync-Up Mode merges animations on the card and on the ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20 cooler into a single sequence through the ASUS InfoHub app.
The ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 was introduced on June 2, 2026 at Computex in Taipei as part of the ROG Edition 20 anniversary lineup.
