Leak Points to Huawei Nova 16 SE with 8,500mAh Battery
Tipster Digital Chat Station has disclosed alleged specifications for the Huawei Nova 16 SE, a smartphone that could join Huawei's Nova 16 lineup in China, which currently includes the Nova 16, Nova 16 Pro, Nova 16 Ultra, and Nova 16z.
Huawei has not officially confirmed the device, so all details should be treated as unverified for now. If accurate, it would mark the first SE-branded Nova model since the Nova 12 SE launched in 2024.
Design and display
According to the leak, the Huawei Nova 16 SE's design will draw from the Honor Power2, with a gradient-finished rear panel expected. The device is said to feature a flat LTPS OLED display with a 1.5K resolution.
Performance and camera
The source claims the phone will run on the Kirin 8020 chipset, which Huawei has already used in the Nova 16z. The main camera is rumored to use a 50-megapixel sensor paired with Huawei's Red Maple imaging technology, based on a multispectral sensor.
The standout feature could be an 8,500mAh battery — notably larger than the 7,000mAh cells found in the flagship Nova 16 and Nova 16 Pro, announced in June.
Separate reports suggest the Nova 16 SE could launch within the coming weeks, with a possible price range of 2,000–3,000 yuan (roughly $300–450).
