Infinix Launches Hot 70 Pro in India with Interactive Active Matrix Cube

Infinix has brought the Hot 70 Pro to the Indian market, a phone whose rear panel carries a light module of its own. The device already debuted in global markets, so it arrives in India with a settled hardware platform but its own set of configurations. For the company's Indian division this is also the first Hot series model with IP68 protection, which remains uncommon in this segment.

The Back Panel as a Separate Interface

What sets the Hot 70 Pro apart from the rest of the line-up sits on its rear: a small LED module placed next to the cameras. It works without unlocking the phone and is aimed at moments when the device is lying face down.

Active Matrix Cube shows alerts for calls and messages, charging status, the camera countdown and weather, and it pulses in time with music and games. Through the Matrix Studio app users can build their own animations and emoji and share them with another owner of the same model.

The finishes follow the same idea of a surface that keeps changing. Thermo Orange shifts its shade with temperature, Mirage Green glows under UV light, Silk Glow Purple plays with reflections depending on the viewing angle, and Dive Blue stays matte for buyers who prefer a plainer look. The body measures 7.85 mm thick.

Performance, Display and Battery Life

Processing is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100, a 6 nm platform with four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. For the Hot series that is a clear step up, since the previous generation was limited to a 4G platform. Storage runs on the UFS 2.2 standard, and Infinix claims support for up to 90 frames per second in popular games.

The display is still an LCD panel, but it now offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate, which shows up most clearly in games and while scrolling. Brightness reaches 910 nits in HBM mode, so outdoor readability should be acceptable, although the panel falls behind the AMOLED screens used by rivals in contrast.

The 6,000 mAh battery supports 45 W charging, and by the company's own measurements it reaches 50% in roughly 25 minutes. Reverse wired charging of up to 10 W is available as well. Beyond IP68, Infinix states that the body complies with MIL-STD-810H testing, though without naming the specific tests involved.

Camera and Software Features

The main camera is built around a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor with 2x lossless zoom. On the software side there are Live Photo, AI Studio and the AI Eraser and AI Extender editing tools. The front camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels. The phone ships with XOS 16 based on Android 16, and the company promises three major operating system upgrades and five years of security patches.

One-Tap AI Button is a dedicated hardware key that can be assigned to launch Gemini or any of more than 50 apps.

UltraLink enables calls between compatible devices without a SIM card or mobile network at distances of up to one kilometre.

How the Indian Version Differs from the Global One

Globally the Hot 70 Pro is sold in a wider range of variants: depending on the market it comes with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB of storage and six finishes. Some batches outside India use a dual-cell 5,600 mAh battery instead of the single 6,000 mAh cell.

The Indian version is simpler. Only two configurations are offered, 6/128 GB and 8/128 GB, both with the 6,000 mAh battery, and the colour range is cut to four. The 6 GB model costs Rs 24,999 (~$280) and the 8/128 GB version Rs 27,999 (~$315), while the stated recommended retail prices are Rs 32,999 and Rs 36,999 respectively. With the launch-day bank discount applied, the entry configuration comes to Rs 22,999 (~$260).

The Hot 70 Pro was officially introduced in India on 4 September 2026, with sales through Flipkart, the brand's own online store and retail chains.
