vivo Unveils T5 Smartphone with 7050mAh Battery and Dimensity 7500 Turbo Chip
vivo has officially launched the vivo T5 smartphone in India, the latest addition to its performance-focused T series, built around performance, endurance and a premium design. The device pairs the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset with a 7050mAh battery and a curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, all in a body under 8mm thick.
Performance Built Around the Dimensity 7500 Turbo
At the core of the vivo T5 is the 4nm Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset with an octa-core CPU (4×2.6GHz + 4×2.0GHz) and a new-generation NPU designed for on-device generative AI. According to vivo, the new NPU delivers up to 233% faster on-device AI computing compared with the previous Dimensity 7400, and the company's own AnTuTu testing puts the phone above the 1.2 million mark. To sustain performance under load, engineers added a 3800mm² vapor chamber and more than 23,000mm² of total cooling area.
7050mAh Battery with 44W Fast Charging
The phone houses a 7050mAh lithium-ion battery which, according to vivo, makes it one of the slimmest phones in its battery-capacity class. 44W FlashCharge takes the battery to 44% in 30 minutes. The company states the battery retains at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, equivalent to roughly five years of use.
3D Curved Display and Audio
The vivo T5's screen is a 6.83-inch 3D curved AMOLED panel with a 2800×1260 (1.5K) resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, a pixel density of 449 PPI and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. The display supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut and, according to vivo, can reach up to 2000 nits of HBM brightness. Audio is handled by symmetrical stereo speakers with a bass-boosting algorithm.
Cameras for Everyday Shots
The main camera uses a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor (f/1.79) with 4-axis optical image stabilisation to reduce camera shake in handheld shots. It's joined by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera (f/2.2) with a 115° field of view, while a 32-megapixel front camera (f/2.0) handles selfies. Both the front and rear cameras can record 4K video. Portrait mode offers a choice of three focal lengths, and an AI-based tool removes unwanted objects from photos.
OriginOS 6 and AI Features
The vivo T5 runs OriginOS 6.0 on top of Android 16, with three promised generations of Android upgrades and five years of security updates.
Circle to Search 2.0 lets users search for objects directly on screen with a single gesture, without leaving the current app.
AI Erase 2.0 removes unwanted objects and background people from photos while keeping the shot looking natural.
AI Transcript Assist transcribes and translates meeting recordings, making note-taking easier.
Built for Durability
The vivo T5 carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water protection, covering resistance to immersion, splashes and high-pressure hot water jets. The device has also passed MIL-STD-810H military-grade testing for temperature extremes, drops and dust exposure. It is manufactured at vivo's Greater Noida facility as part of the company's local manufacturing programme in India.
The vivo T5 goes on sale in India from September 9, 2026, in Royal Bronze and Silver Green; the base 6+128GB variant is priced at INR 34,999 (~$369).
The 8+128GB variant is priced at INR 39,999 (~$422), the 8+256GB variant at INR 44,999 (~$474), and the top 12+256GB variant at INR 49,999 (~$527). Sales begin on Flipkart, vivo's own e-store, and partner retail stores.
