Tecno Launches Spark Go 3 Pro With IP69 Rating and 120Hz Display

Tecno has added a new model to its budget Spark family: the Spark Go 3 Pro arrives seven months after the Spark Go 3 and builds its case on durability rather than raw performance. The phone carries dual IP68 and IP69 certification, a 6.78-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5,200 mAh battery. According to the manufacturer, it is the first handset in its segment to carry an IP69 rating, which covers resistance to high-pressure hot water jets.

Durability and stress testing

The IP68 rating confirms protection against dust and immersion in water, while IP69 adds resistance to pressurised cleaning jets and elevated water temperatures. That combination is rare in the entry-level segment, and it is exactly what Tecno has chosen to build the phone's positioning around.

The company also highlights drop resistance, claiming SGS-certified protection in falls from up to 1.5 metres. Its promotional materials list internal test results as well: 25,000 tumble cycles, 500 micro-drops and 20,000 cable insertions into the charging port.

Wet Touch: the touch layer is tuned to register input from wet or greasy fingers, so the screen remains usable in the rain.

Display and audio

Tecno's press release specifies neither the panel type nor the resolution or brightness figures. The official promotional materials fill part of that gap, describing a 6.78-inch HD+ LCD panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Audio comes from dual speakers with DTS support, and the company promises up to a 300% increase in loudness over the baseline level. Stereo sound is still more of an exception than the norm among entry-level phones.

AI Voiceprint Noise Cancellation: during calls the system keys on the user's voiceprint and suppresses surrounding noise, which should help in loud environments.

Hardware and battery life

Both versions ship with the same 4GB of RAM, while storage comes in 64GB and 128GB options. The manufacturer also mentions memory expansion that borrows free space from storage, quoting a figure of up to 128GB in its promotional materials.

Battery life is handled by a 5,200 mAh cell with 15W charging support. The company has not disclosed the chipset or the camera specifications, and neither the press release nor the official promotional materials contain those details.

IR blaster: the phone can double as a universal remote for a TV, an air conditioner and other household appliances.

The Spark Go 3 Pro comes in two configurations: 4/64GB for INR 15,999 (~$168) and 4/128GB for INR 16,999 (~$178). Open sales in India start on September 4 via Amazon.
