Redmi Announces Note 17 Pro in China With Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and a Record 9,000mAh Battery
Redmi has launched the Note 17 Pro in China, the latest addition to its Note lineup built around durability and long battery life. The handset runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, packs a 9,000mAh battery, and ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Sales have started through Redmi's official website, with prices starting at CNY 1,599 for the base configuration.
Display and build durability
The Note 17 Pro features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2,772 x 1,280 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, and a touch sampling rate of up to 3,200Hz. The panel supports HDR10+, peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits, and 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The screen is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass Victus 2, certified to withstand drops from a height of 3 metres, while the chassis carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
Chipset and performance
The phone is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset paired with an Adreno GPU. It is offered with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and either 256GB of UFS 2.2 or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Redmi says the average performance degradation rate over five years of use has been reduced by 24.1 percent compared to the previous generation.
The 50-megapixel main camera, with an f/1.8 aperture, relies on AI processing to produce portraits with more natural depth and detail.
The device also introduces AI Anti-Fraud, a large-model-based protection system designed to flag fraudulent calls and messages across the entire device.
Battery and endurance
The Redmi Note 17 Pro is equipped with a 9,000mAh battery supporting 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging for topping up other devices. The battery has received TÜV SÜD certification across several categories, including resistance to extreme temperatures, mechanical impact, and a rated 1,600 charge cycles while retaining at least 80 percent of its capacity. Redmi states the battery delivers up to 2.5 days of typical use, a 31 percent improvement over the previous generation.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro is now available in China in four colours — Black, Nebula Purple, Sky Blue, and White. Pricing starts at CNY 1,599 for the 8GB+128GB variant. Xiaomi has also introduced a battery support programme offering free battery replacement during the first four years, with an upgrade to a higher-capacity battery in the fifth year if health drops below 80 percent.
