Tecno Unveils Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition

Tecno has unveiled the Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition, a special version of its gaming smartphone created in partnership with the Italian house Tonino Lamborghini. It's the first such collaboration for the Pova series, and while the design has been reworked, the hardware underneath is identical to the regular Pova 8 Pro 5G.

The signature triangular camera island has been reworked with styling cues inspired by Tonino Lamborghini, including a new rear detail called the Pulse Line. Working with the fashion house, Tecno also developed exclusive boot animations, dynamic wallpapers, and a fully redesigned set of system icons.

The limited edition ships with dedicated boot animations and wallpapers along with a unique app icon set, all co-designed with Tonino Lamborghini and exclusive to this version.

Like the standard model, the phone features a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits, and a 2,800Hz touch sampling rate. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i alongside the Omni-Shield Impact System. The secondary Alive Matrix Display on the back carries over as well, lighting up for notifications and other usage scenarios.

Performance and cooling

The phone is built around the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset paired with the Tecno P1 Graphic Chip, which handles frame interpolation and pushes in-game frame rates up to 144FPS. Cooling is handled by a 5,000mm2 vapor chamber and a total cooling area exceeding 22,000mm2, built across nine layers.

Thanks to the Tecno P1 Graphic Chip and its frame interpolation technology, the phone can push up to 144FPS in FPS and MOBA games, matching the capability of the standard Pova 8 Pro 5G.

Cameras and AI features

The main camera uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C sensor with optical image stabilization, paired with an 8MP ultrawide module, while a 13MP sensor handles selfies. Software features include FlashSnap for capturing fast-moving scenes and 3D PhotoSpace for adding depth effects to photos.

The Ella digital assistant gets an expanded feature set on this edition, including note-taking through AI One-Tap FlashMemo and noise cancellation across more calling scenarios.

Battery and charging

Power comes from a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging and support for all-scenario bypass charging. Tecno says the battery is engineered for roughly six years of usable lifespan.

The phone also retains IP66/68/69/69K dust and water resistance and the programmable One-Tap Button for quickly triggering features.

Pricing and availability for the Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition haven't been announced yet. According to sources, the differences from the standard Pova 8 Pro 5G are purely cosmetic.
