Tecno Unveils Pova AI Buds Pro With AI Transcription and 78-Language Translation
Tecno has introduced its wireless earbuds Pova AI Buds Pro in India, arriving ahead of the Pova 8 Pro smartphone, which is set to launch in the country on August 18. The company positions built-in artificial intelligence as the earbuds' main selling point: the device can transcribe speech in real time, generate meeting summaries, and translate conversations across dozens of languages.
AI features for work and communication
Real-time speech transcription turns spoken words into text on the fly, while the built-in AI generates concise summaries of meetings and conversations.
The translation feature covers up to 78 languages, making the Pova AI Buds Pro a handy tool for talking with foreign speakers without extra apps.
A Quick Note button on the charging case starts recording directly to the earbuds' built-in storage, with continuous recording available for up to four hours.
Sound and noise cancellation
Each earbud packs four microphones and supports Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, which Tecno claims cuts ambient noise by up to 48dB. Controls are handled via pinch gestures on the stems. For audio quality, the earbuds support Hi-Res Audio and the LHDC codec, and dual-device connectivity lets users switch easily between a phone and a laptop. The earbuds carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.
Battery life and charging
Tecno claims the Pova AI Buds Pro can deliver up to 40 hours of total battery life with the charging case. The case itself supports both wired charging via USB Type-C and wireless charging, though the wireless charging pad is sold separately.
The Tecno Pova AI Buds Pro are priced at INR 14,999 (~$155) and come in a single color option. They go on sale in India via Flipkart and Amazon starting August 22.
