Xiaomi's flagship Xiaomi 18 Pro may launch outside China for the first time, reportedly carrying over the distinctive display on its camera panel that debuted on the Xiaomi 17 Pro a year ago. According to a report from XimiTime, citing leaker Kacper Skrzypek, the global version of the phone, codenamed Venice (model number 26122PN61G), could arrive in Turkey, the European Economic Area, Taiwan, Japan, and other markets — but not India or the United States.

Camera-Panel Display Set to Go Global

The Xiaomi 17 Pro introduced a 2.7-inch OLED panel on its back, dubbed the Magic Back Screen, covering the entire camera plateau. The feature remained exclusive to the Chinese market, however. Leaks suggest the Xiaomi 18 Pro will keep this display, though it's unclear whether it will use the same 2.7-inch panel or an upgraded version.

Indirect evidence of the global rollout comes from the international version of the HyperOS Themes app, which has reportedly included translations referencing the camera-panel display since April, according to leaker Kacper Skrzypek.

Expected Hardware

Xiaomi hasn't officially announced the 18 Pro yet, so the specifications below are based on leaked information. Sources also point to a dedicated AI button, likely intended to streamline access to photography and smart features.

  • Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 or its Pro variant (2nm process)
  • Main camera: 200MP SmartSens sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches with 3.0 LOFIC technology
  • Secondary camera: an additional 200MP sensor
  • Battery: approximately 7,000mAh
  • Charging: 100W wired fast charging

Why It Matters

The previous Xiaomi 17 series already performed well commercially, with 5.08 million units sold in China as of May 2026. Taking the Xiaomi 18 Pro global could be Xiaomi's attempt to repeat that success internationally while offering buyers a feature most other flagships still lack.
