Xiaomi Officially Announces Redmi K100 Pro Max With 5x Periscope Camera and 9,070mAh Battery

Redmi has officially unveiled the top model of the lineup, the Redmi K100 Pro Max, alongside the Redmi K100 Pro in China. Unlike its smaller sibling, the Pro Max features the full, unbinned Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, a larger display and an upgraded camera system.

Display and performance

The Redmi K100 Pro Max sports a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 1200 x 2608 resolution, a 185Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The screen supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. It's powered by the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

5x periscope zoom and a 50MP ultrawide

The main camera sensor is rated at 200MP with optical image stabilization. The ultrawide module also gets a 50MP sensor instead of the 8MP unit found on the K100 Pro. The front camera is rated at 32MP.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max gets a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom — the main camera upgrade over the standard K100 Pro, which only offers 2.5x optical zoom.

Just like the standard model, the audio system was tuned by Bose: a 2.1 stereo speaker setup with a rear subwoofer supports Hi-Res audio at 24-bit/192kHz.

The largest battery in the series

The Redmi K100 Pro Max packs a 9,070mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery — 490mAh more than the Redmi K100 Pro. It supports 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The body carries an IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance rating.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max's 9,070mAh battery capacity ranks among the largest of any current flagship smartphone.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max is now available to order in China. The base 12/256GB model costs CNY 4,199 (~$622), while the top-end 16/1TB version costs CNY 5,999 (~$890).

Based on last year's pattern, when the Redmi K90 Pro Max became the Poco F8 Ultra internationally, the Redmi K100 Pro Max could eventually receive a global Poco-branded version as well, though this hasn't been officially confirmed.
