Xiaomi Unveils a Giant New Humidifier That Can Moisten a Room in Just 7 Minutes

Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro, a hybrid appliance that combines air purification and humidification in a single unit.

Fast humidification for larger rooms

The device's standout feature is its humidification output of up to 2,000mL of moisture per hour. According to Xiaomi's own testing, that's enough to raise the humidity in a standard bedroom in just 7 minutes, and in a larger living room in about 19 minutes. Water is drawn from an 8-liter tank, offering up to 16 hours of continuous operation in sleep mode.

A one-way spray water circulation system keeps used water from flowing back into the main tank, limiting bacterial growth and discoloration. The design is paired with electrolyzed water sterilization and a washable antibacterial filter.

Air purification and independent operation

Purification is handled by a six-layer composite filter. The unit is rated at 422m³/h for particulate matter CADR and 247m³/h for formaldehyde CADR. Individual filter layers are designed to catch large debris, PM1 and PM2.5 particles, and neutralize formaldehyde and common allergens.

The humidification and purification functions operate independently, so the device can be used purely as an air purifier when ambient humidity is already at a comfortable level.

Monitoring and smart controls

A dome-shaped LCD display on top of the unit, with adaptive brightness, shows real-time readings for temperature, humidity, dust concentration, and PM1/PM2.5 levels.

The device connects to the Mijia app for remote control, data tracking, and filter monitoring, and supports voice commands through XiaoAI. Users can also set a target humidity level for the device to maintain automatically.

Everyday practicality despite its size

Xiaomi built in several convenience features for daily use, including top-fill water refilling and a fully removable tank with a carrying handle. The unit sits on 360-degree caster wheels for easier movement between rooms. Inside, a DC brushless inverter motor and optimized airflow channels keep noise down to a claimed 28.1dB(A) in sleep mode.

The Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro will be available on Xiaomi's Youpin crowdfunding platform starting July 22nd, priced at 1,699 yuan (around $250).
