ASUS Unveils ROG G1000 Edition 20 Gaming Desktop With Holographic Fan System
ASUS has introduced the ROG G1000 Edition 20, a limited-run version of its flagship gaming desktop marking two decades of Republic of Gamers. It is the company's first production PC with holographic fans that project images into the air, and it uses a tri-zone cooling layout that splits the chassis into three independent thermal domains. The system took a Golden Award at the Computex Best Choice Awards 2026 in the gaming and immersive technology category.
AniMe Holo holographic fans
The AniMe Holo system uses three X-shaped fans: one large unit on the side panel and two more at the front. As the blades spin, LEDs assemble an image that reads as three-dimensional. ASUS rates the system for more than 30,000 hours of continuous operation.
Content is managed in Armoury Crate, where users can upload their own MP4, GIF, JPEG and PNG files. The front pair works in three modes: each fan displaying its own image, both showing the same picture, or the two chained together into a single sequence.
Tri-zone cooling
The chassis is divided into three isolated zones covering the CPU, the graphics card and the power supply. The separation prevents warm air from one component reaching its neighbours, and ASUS rates the combined thermal headroom at 1000 watts.
ROG Thermal Atrium is a dedicated chamber for the CPU cooler that pulls air directly from outside the case; ASUS reports intake air up to 16 °C cooler and twice the airflow of a conventional layout.
The CPU is cooled by a 420 mm liquid cooler with three fans. The GPU zone relies on two 200 mm front intakes, a 140 mm rear exhaust and a 140 mm bottom intake. The power supply sits in its own shrouded compartment. A dedicated Fan Key button switches the system to maximum airflow instantly.
Configuration
The build is based on an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor with 3D V-Cache and a ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. The system supports up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory and four M.2 drives with PCIe 5.0 support. Power comes from a fully modular 1000-watt 80 PLUS Gold unit. Memory, storage, GPU, CPU, cooler and motherboard are all user-replaceable.
Every unit carries a unique factory serial number and a Glory Gold badge marking the limited production run.
The ROG G1000 Edition 20 was introduced on June 2, 2026 at Computex in Taipei as part of the ROG Edition 20 anniversary lineup.
