POCO Unveils M8 Power With 8,000mAh Battery
POCO has officially launched the M8 Power smartphone in India, a device built around an 8,000mAh, TÜV-certified battery. Aimed at users who prioritize endurance, the phone pairs its large battery with an AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset.
EV-grade battery and reverse charging
At the core of the M8 Power is an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, TÜV-certified to EV standards. POCO claims that a 10-minute charge delivers up to 8 hours of use. The phone supports 45W wired charging.
The smartphone also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging, letting users charge other compatible devices directly from the M8 Power.
Display and performance
The M8 Power features a 7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Processing is handled by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 platform paired with an Adreno 613 GPU.
The display supports 960Hz PWM dimming, intended to reduce eye strain during extended use.
Camera and software
Photography duties fall to a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF, backed by an LED flash. The front camera comes in at 8MP. The phone runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3 on top, and carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
According to several outlets, the POCO M8 Power is a rebadged version of the Redmi Note 17, which previously debuted in China.
The POCO M8 Power officially launched in India on August 4, 2026. The base variant is priced at ₹21,999 (~$250) and is already available to order via Flipkart and other online retailers.
